A strong typhoon will hit Taiwan tomorrow. All classes are canceled, and the school gate will stay closed until Friday. Please follow these rules:
If you need more information, please call the school office after ten in the morning.

強烈颱風明天將侵襲台灣。全校停課，校門會關閉到星期五。請遵守以下規定：

Dear Jenny,
How is the weather in Taipei? Here in Hualien it is stormy today. I can hear thunder, and the rain has not stopped yet. It looks like a big storm.
Last week was different. The days were sunny and hot, and we swam in the sea every afternoon. I picked ten mangoes from my uncle's tree, too.
My mother says the typhoon will pass on Sunday. If the weather is fine, come and visit me next weekend.

台北的天氣如何？我這裡花蓮今天是暴風雨。我聽得到雷聲，雨還沒停。看起來像是一場大風暴。
上星期就很不一樣。那幾天又晴又熱，我們每天下午都去海裡游泳。我還從叔叔的樹上摘了十顆芒果。
我媽媽說颱風星期天就會過去。如果天氣好，下週末就來看我吧。

Imagine you are outside and a storm begins. Thunder and lightning often come together in summer. In fact, they happen at the same time, but we see the lightning first because light travels faster than sound.
Dark clouds usually mean that rain is coming. Lightning is very hot and can be dangerous. When you hear thunder, go inside quickly. Do not stand under a tall tree, and do not touch anything electric.
Many people are careless during a storm. A few minutes inside can keep you safe.
想像你正在外面，然後暴風雨開始了。夏天打雷和閃電常常一起出現。事實上，它們是同時發生的，但我們會先看到閃電，因為光傳得比聲音快。
烏雲通常表示要下雨了。閃電非常熱，可能很危險。聽到雷聲時要趕快進到室內。不要站在高大的樹下，也不要碰任何電器。
很多人在暴風雨中很粗心。進到室內待個幾分鐘，就能保護你的安全。
