We found a strange old box under the stairs. There were some old pictures and a small key inside. My father says the key opens the door on the roof.

Houses around the world are not all the same. In cold places, people build thick walls and make small windows to keep the heat inside. Some roofs are very high, so the snow can slide off easily.
Near the sea, fishermen sometimes build their houses above the water. In hot places, many people sleep on the roof in summer.
People build houses in different ways, but whether they are rich or poor, they all want the same thing: a safe and warm room to come back to.
世界各地的房子並不都一樣。在寒冷的地方，人們蓋厚厚的牆和小小的窗戶，把熱氣留在屋裡。有些屋頂做得很高，讓雪可以順著滑下來。
在海邊，漁民有時把房子蓋在水面上。在炎熱的地方，許多人夏天會睡在屋頂上。
人們蓋房子的方式不同，但不論貧富，大家想要的都一樣：一個安全溫暖、可以回去的房間。
